Bexley Public Library partners with SearchOhio and OhioLINK to provide access to millions of additional items. If Bexley Public Library’s shared CLC catalog does not have an item a patron wants, the item can then be requested, if available, from a SearchOhio or OhioLINK library.

SearchOhio and OhioLINK items borrowing rules differ from Bexley Public Library’s borrowing policy:

Reserved items will be held for 10 days after your item arrives at BPL
Monitor MY ACCOUNT, as due dates vary according to the lending library’s rules
Overdue items cannot be renewed.
Overdue items are subject to fines, which cannot be waived:
$0.50 per day; Maximum of $25 per item
If an item is more than 35 days overdue, it will be declared lost.

What is SearchOhio?

SearchOhio is a statewide network of 44 public library systems, including the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, and the Cuyahoga County Public Library.

What is OhioLINK?

OhioLINK is a statewide academic library consortium of 120 academic libraries, providing patrons access to nearly 50 million books.

Are there overdue fees for late SearchOhio and OhioLINK materials? What if I lose my ILL?

While BPL no longer charges late fees for overdue items, you are responsible for charges associated with lost or damaged items borrowed through SearchOhio and OhioLINK.

Replacement fees are billed for any item that isn't returned within 35 days of the due date: SearchOhio items are $50, and OhioLINK items are $110

How do I return items that I've borrowed through SearchOhio or OhioLINK?

Books and materials borrowed through SearchOhio or OhioLINK can be returned to any CLC Member Library. Library staff will ensure that the items are returned to the library system that owns the materials.

How will I know when my SearchOhio or OhioLINK request is ready for pickup?

You will receive a notification when your item is ready for pickup through the method noted on your BPL library card account: email, phone, or text message.

Which materials are available through SearchOhio and OhioLINK?

You may request a variety of materials, including books, audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs, from SearchOhio and OhioLINK's partner libraries.

Which materials might not be available through SearchOhio and OhioLINK?

Please note that eBooks and eAudiobooks are not available through these services. Also, some formats, like Blu-ray or Large Print, may be trickier to find right now. Improved search filters are coming soon!
