ADULT SERVICES LIBRARIAN

At BPL, we believe that libraries play a crucial role in providing trustworthy information about issues that impact our lives and communities. Librarians play an integral role in that mission, providing patrons with reliable information along with opportunities to explore, create, and connect. Bexley Public Library is seeking an Adult Services Librarian to bring their interests, experience, and ideas to our innovative, patron-focused team. As a Librarian, you serve as a model of customer service and reference support, bringing a service-centered approach to all aspects of the role.

Primary duties include: 

·         Developing, producing, and assisting with adult programming including special events and community partnership opportunities.

·         Staffing all service points and assisting patrons with reference questions, research needs and resource recommendations using an advanced knowledge of library offerings and best practices.  

·         Modeling outstanding customer service, open and friendly communication, and positive, approachable behavior.

·         Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with community members and organizations

·         Leading outreach services and programs such as book bike visits, book club facilitation, senior community center services, etc.
