Suzanne Roberts - former Bexley resident and CEO of UnifyingSolutions - and Jim White - author, Capital University alumnus, and CEO of Performance Consulting Services - have been meeting and discussing racism for over five years. As a white woman and a black man discussing race relations in our communities and America, they have educated audiences with a historical and personal perspective on the complexity of these issues.
Join us for an interactive discussion about race with special insight into Bexley's past and present, in a safe space. Moderated by LC Johnson of the Columbus YWCA, this program will equip you with the tools to engage in conversations about race, challenge biases in your self and others, and tools for action. Bring your questions, observations and curiosity so that we can all grow from this intimate conversation. The dialogue will continue and develop over a series of three events in partnership with Bexley City Schools, the City of Bexley, and the Bexley Diversity & Inclusion Initiative. This series is funded by a generous grant from the Bexley Community Foundation.
While the program is a series of three, you are encouraged but not obligated to attend all three events. The conversation will evolve and be different at every event.
The series dates are:
Thursday, November 30, 2017
Thursday, January 11, 2018
Thursday, March 1, 2018
