Storytimes at Bexley Public Library are more than just a fun, family outing. They are an interactive, educational experience based on early-literacy research and best practices. We incorporate movement, singing, and play into our stories and activities to keep families engaged and solidify learning.
To determine what Storytime is right for your family, please check out the descriptions below as well as the library Calendar. Winter storytimes run from Monday, December 5 to Wednesday, February 15.
Mondays | 10:00-10:30 a.m.
Preschoolers will have a ball with stories, dances, and songs, all while building vital early literacy skills. Preschool Storytime also helps children develop many social skills, such as self-regulation and peer interaction, which are needed to succeed in school.
Tuesdays | 10:00-10:20 a.m.
Caregivers and babies alike will love this interactive lapsit program, which features baby-focused stories, songs, and rhymes. Reading, talking, and singing with your baby will build a strong foundation for early learning and will help your baby understand his or her world.
Tuesdays | 11:00-11:30 a.m.
We weave stories, songs, rhymes, and play activities together to create an engaging and educational experience specific to toddlers' needs. Caregivers are encouraged to participate and take these fun, early literacy ideas home.
Wednesdays | 10:00-10:30 a.m.
Interactive rhymes and basic ASL signs will have you and your child moving and learning together. Designed for babies and toddlers, Rhyme Time focuses on building phonological awareness and expanding vocabulary through repetition of rhymes and motions.
Wednesday Nights | 6:30-7:00 p.m.
Snuggle up and listen to some wonderful books before bedtime. This special, evening program is for children of all ages and is an enriching way for the whole family to end the day. Bring a stuffed animal and wear pajamas to make the occasion even more fun.
